Sugar Ruffles and Platinum Roses

I love this cake! It was inspired by a pic that my good friend Amy Parman brought to me of a gown that was covered in pleated curly ruffles and had dark grey platinum fabric roses sewn on it. Flowers and Frills Oh My!

When it comes to cake design, I really think many times less is more. No, seriously. Sometimes the simplest designs without much detail can be very complex. Here is an example of a beautiful cake that I designed for a lovely client this past summer and I think its simplicity says it all.
